THE ARTIST - JACK OLSON - BIOGRAPHY
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Jack was born in Chicago, and discovered art at a very
young age. He spent a lot of time when he was young
at The Chicago Art Institute, studying the masters
and sketching ideas. He was fifteen when his family
moved from Chicago to Colorado, where he discovered
the beauty of the Rocky Mountains, and their
surroundings. His love for the mountains, Aspen
trees, wildlife and the western lifestyle is quite
evident in his paintings. He has become well known for
his realistic style of painting! His family traveled by
train many times when he was young, and he grew a
fondness for them. It wasn’t until much later in his
career that he decided to include them in his
artwork. Being a mostly self taught artist, he says “ I
have had to work very diligently to elevate my work to
it’s current level, and I am nowhere near where I would
like to be as an artist. I have been an artist for over thirty five years, and I love it as much today
as I did when I started.”
